Hacienda Wet Burrito Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the cumin, chili powder, and oregano and cook for 1 minute more. Add the tomatoes, chicken broth, and cilantro and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the sauce to a blender and blend until smooth. Serve warm over burritos or tacos.
